ABOUT ME

I have been involved in music from a very young age - my mom was a piano player and singer and started to teach me piano when I was three.  I sang in choirs through my teenage years and into adult life. I eventually chose to pursue music as a career when entering University. After much musical study and returning to the Edmonton area, I continued to perform and started to teach while my children were young.  I continue to perform recitals and concerts in the Edmonton area and have thriving studios at MacEwan University's Alberta College Conservatory of Music, at The King's University and at my home studio.  I love to see my students succeed, whatever their level or goals are.
I teach a classical approach to support and technique but my students sing in all genres of music and languages.

With beginning students, we will study the fundamentals of vocal production, breath management, anatomy and physiology.  I also cover posture, musical terminology and the finer points of how to practice efficiently.  The theory of music is an asset but may also be taught if the student has no previous experience.

"Beth is a teacher and ear I can trust. No matter where my education or career takes me, I can always depend on her to bring me back to the foundations of good singing technique. The 'language' of voice teaching can be challenging to understand from teacher to teacher but I have always found that Beth is able to well articulate and explain difficult technical concepts for the singer on all levels."
